... checked into the hostel, went and had dinner/drinks at a little local pub, walked around a bit, then went back to the hostel fairly early. This was my first time staying in a hostel and oh boy, was it an experience. I chose to be in a mixed room (rather than all female) and I ended up being the only female and the only sober-ish one...so, yeah, I basically hid under my covers in a ball all night. Next trip is down to Newcastle to see Jen and Tom!

Pondering on the next adventure. Maybe Paris....

... first on what was to be quite a multi stop journey to Edinburgh.

As you drive towards the site at Culloden you go past the battle field to park behind it so you can see the blue and red flags depicting the front lines for each army, they are so close and the battle field looks quite eery, it has a feeling about it you could say. We set off into the site and first you go through the displays which tell each sides ...

... Wood....yes the one Shakespeare wrote about in Macbeth ( there was a Scotish King Macbeth Shakespeare knew about)....the village of Dunkeld is a dream....we walked to the Cathedral...a beautiful structure....but it's surrounds are breath taking...lush lawns with elegant trees sloping down to a fast flowing wide river which, hit by the mid day sun...was covered in diamonds....we sat and ate a very memorable lunch on a bench seat ...
