      ... I had met an American guy from Connecticut who lived in Edinburgh for school. He decided to challenge me and the loser buys the drinks. Well i won and the douche got irritated or embarrassed and forcefully pushed me off the stand i was on and i fell back off the edge and all the way into the gate that was around the mat. Now, if you could have seen how far the mat was from the gate you would totally understand how hard he would have had to push me. ...

      ... the area of Alnwick castle where they taught everyone to ride brooms and play Quiditch. Food was good. The coffee was hot. The decor was unusual (lots of elephants...) and the view was inspiring.

      From there on to Mary King's Close. (A close is just another word for a narrow street or alley way.) This is an hour guided tour that led you back in time to see how the poor of Edinburgh lived in the 1700's. I'm just glad ...

      As you drive towards the site at Culloden you go past the battle field to park behind it so you can see the blue and red flags depicting the front lines for each army, they are so close and the battle field looks quite eery, it has a feeling about it you could say.       ... then headed back to the hotel. Edinburgh is a very impressive city, well set out and good transportation. Work is well underway setting up a tram system that runs through the city and suburbs and out to the airport, scheduled to be completed in 2014 that will run on electricity, saving the need to bring some cars and buses in to the city. We had a great pub meal at the Albanach Hotel, but neither of us were brave enough to have the Haggis or Black Pudding.....ha ...
