Caraib'Bay Hotel Basse-terre

I have stayed with my husband at the Caraib Bay hotel for my honeymoon. It was great. The hotel is lovely and is composed of 6 bungalows which got 2 accomodations (semi detached if you want). All bungalows feels very secluded in a very well-looked after tropical gardens. It is over two floors and the bedroom upstairs is very spacious with a double bed and a single bed you also have a child bed if you need one. Downstairs there is a lounge, bathroom and a tiny kitchen (in a cupboard) -But we never used it...There is also a terrace with a table and chairs.

The best about the hotel is the staff they are fantastic. The owner speaks English, French and I think Italian. He gave us a talk abou the whole islands and some really useful advices about where to go.

The hotel is only 5 mns walk from the Grande Anse Beach (our favorite), which is like the beach in Lost really!!!!No one to annoy you, if you go there at 9 am , there is no one else you feel like on a desert island.

Jazz made us discover scuba diving in the Japonese Garden and it was a fantastic experience.

Just a word of warning, Deshaies is very quiet if you want some nightlife you need to go to Pointe a Pitre but you can easily do it just need a car.

If you want a quiet retreat go to Basse Terre and having travelled a lot around the island it was the most pitoresque part.

Loved it.

The best word to sum up our stay at this lovely place is "Excellent".

The welcome was warm and friendly.

The bungalow was tidy and apart from the Lilliputian kitchen corner well equipped (comfortable beds, shower ecologically supplied, air conditioned - note that besides the area is naturally breezed by trade winds).

The bar/breakfast open air lounge cute and decorated with a lot of taste (we highly recommend the Armelle's homemade Punch).

The "after the sea" swimming-pool just perfect.

The garden so gorgeous all-over the place that is actually a botanical garden in itself.

The people starting by the owners Armelle & Benoit without forgetting the maid Marie-Denise, the gardener Philippe, the assistants Nadia, Martine always available and ready to chat about the things to do (many in one hour car range especially for nature lovers), the place to eat (local food simple or more sophisticated cuisine), the weather (sun, sun, sun, light shower, sun, sun, sun, sun, light shower, night and rewind !) or whatever goes through your mind.

The nearby (6mn walk, 1 mn car beware of the crossroad!) concrete free sandy beach "Grande Anse" is so nice to stroll and swim along (have an eye on small kids with waves that can be strong).

Nous voulions éviter les "usines" à touristes de grande terre. Pari réussi dans ce complexe verdoyant du Caraïb'Bay Hôtel situé dans un des plus beaux endroits de la Guadeloupe (3mn à pied de la superbe plage de Grande Anse). L'accueil et les conseils avisés et personnalisés ont fait de notre séjour un moment inoubliable.

Nous sommes venus à 3, deux adultes et un jeune enfant de 2 ans et demie. Les duplex sont bien entretenus, équipés de moustiquaires et avec climatisation. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la kitchenette, toute petite mais suffisante pour un repas calme en famille.

L'accueil est sympathique et efficace, et comprend une séance d'information sur les excursions à faire ou les activités possibles en Guadeloupe. Le bar est bien fourni. Il n'y a pas de restaurant, mais les propriétaires travaillent avec un restaurant italien et un traiteur, donc possibilité, pour ceux qui ne veulent ou ne peuvent pas sortir d'être livrés.

Des services de babysitting (très cher), sont possibles. Cela nous a permis de découvrir 2-3 restaurants de la région.

L'hôtel est situé à proximité immédiate de la plage de Grande Anse, un des joyaux de Basse Terre, et dispose d'un parking et d'une piscine.

Nous le recommanderions à toute personne en quête d'un endroit beau et calme à Basse Terre.

Hôtel de charme dans un grand jardin tropical où les patrons sont super sympas. La situation de l'hôtel est très calme et pas loin de la magnifique plage de Gd Anse.

On y passe des journées très relaxantes que ce soit sur la terrase des bungalows, en chambre spacieuse, au bord de la piscine ou au bar; un réel enchantement pour les amoureux de nature et de paysages préservés !

What an amazing garden with 2 storeys lovely cabanas! Ideal for families and romantic couples.

After being greated by the nice and pleasant couple who owns this secret hideaway, we walk through the jungle, as our 2 yo refers to the wonderful garden filled with thousand of trees and birds (a small botanical garden), to reach our little bungalow comprised of a terrace (some with hamacs), a first floor with a small lounge, kitchenette, bathroom and place for an extra (or 2) bed. We went to the second wooden floor to discover the main room with a nice view on the garden and a sneak preview of the lovely pool waiting for us.

Every morning, an excellent continental breakfast was available, buffet style, with fruits, juices, coffee, bread, cereals, hot chocolate for the kids (or grownups...), etc. from the terrace, which serves as a bar for the rest of the day, overwatching the pool and, once again, the garden!

We spent our first days here before going to Les Saintes and enjoyed it so much, we decided to return for the last 4 days of our trip to make sure we would come back to Canada, relaxed: thanks to Benoit and Armelle, we did!

Tranquillità assoluta, in un vero giardino tropicale: solo il volo dei colibrì e frastuono di grilli ed uccellini all' imbrunire.

Alloggio in un bungalows a due piani (stanza con il letto matrimoniale, un singolo aggiunto ed un lettino per bambini al primo piano, un letto singolo al piano terra), completo di cucinetta, hall. Bagno al primo piano completo di bidet!

Non c' è la televisione, ma forse dovevamo chiederla: ma onestamente, a cosa serve la tv mentre si è alla Guadalupa?

Servizio eccellente, manca il ristorante, ma il servizio di consegna cibi (e pizze) a domicilio è perfetto (e buono!).

I gestori vi daranno tutte le indicazioni per trascorrere una ottima vacanza (a noi hanno anche fatto delle prenotazioni per andare al giardino delle orchidee).

Servizio di internet a pagamento (una piccola quota per tutto il vostro periodo di permanenza) al bar, utile soprattutto per accedere alle mail via web.

We staid 10 wonderful days in the Caraib Bay Hotel. The place is wonderful, in a nice tropical park.

You feel like at home. You have your own bungalow with a lovely terrasse where you can rest, eat, take a drink.... before going to the swimming pool or to the beach.

The owners and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The owners give you a lot of advice for your stay.

The situation of this hotel is perfect for lovers of mountain and sea. We used to do some hiking in the morning and then go snorkeling in the afternoon. But we also did some canyoning, kayak and other fun activities.

So if If you love nature, sport, in a quiet and relaxing place then I recommend you to go to the Caraib bay hotel.

L'équipe est super sympa et elle organise une présentation trés détaillée de la Guadeloupe et des partenaires avec qui ils travaillent dont l'association Guadeloupéene d'écotourisme(dont ils sont membre)

Un hotel exellant situé véritablement au coeur d'un jardin tropicale bien touffu...

L'acceuil est très bon (il s'agit d'une famille), le personel est prèt à vous aider en cas de besoin (du directeur à la femme de ménage en passant par le jardinier).

La disposition des bungalows et tres discrète et rend le tout plus joli encore. Ambiance créole et familliale assuré (Entre les propriétaires et les autres occupants).
