    ... base village. After walking for over 2.5 hours in great spirit and amidst nature, we had realised that the rickshaw driver was incorrect. Few trekkers whom we met on the way told us that we had to walk for an hour more to reach till the base village. A bit disappointed at that, we still continued our walk thinking we should finish our trek even if there were minor disturbances.     ... and try the old "Oh damn, we missed the alarm" trick was very high but somehow managed to fight it. The tour took us to Victoria Terminus Station, Crawford fruit and veg market, and then down a dark alleyway where the guy asked “any of you vegetarians?” On us replying no, he took us into the meat market building (remarkably like Infernos on a Saturday night, smelt a bit better).     ... and Amba, guided by boy Hritik. On our way back, we visited the farm – the rice harvest had been done and vegetables had been recently sowed. We got some vegetables plucked straight from the farm for us. In the end, we browsed through the vast nursery operated by Bhumkar and his wife and bought 3 saplings – a Christmas tree, a karipatta and a decoration plant.

    It was a nice experience of a day and worth paying a visit again in summer ...
