" A nice hotel and excellent service"

My trip to Aqaba was great. I have stayed at the Captain's Hotel. The room is clean and very new, it's a newly open hotel near the the city center of Aqaba. The food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. It's just only 2 kilometers away from the beach areas, but i have decided to stay at the hotel because they have swimming pool, gym, sauna, and jacuzzi facilities. I would really like to recommend this hotel to my friends. I can quote as " HOME AWAY FROM HOME"

On to Aqaba

This Sabbath was a delightfully restful day. David Baker and I decided to let everyone rest as much as possible. Breakfast was open until 9:00 and we set our Sabbath Bible Study for 10:30. We had asked the night before for everyone to be packed and ready to leave before coming to the Bible Study so we could leave right after checking out at 12:00. We held the study around the pool terrace, which enjoyed a pleasant breeze coming across the valley from Petra. We had the terrace to ourselves asi...

Aqaba and the Red Sea

Most of us woke up early this morning. Many of us didn't sleep too well. The drooping "walls" between rooms didn't stop various snores from carrying. My wife and I suffered a concerted mosquito attack at 3:00 am, and we had ants in the bed in the early morning. Since the "floor" was just a carpet thrown over the sand of the desert, many things had access to our "room." I woke again at first light (5:30 or so), but was able to get back to sleep for a while longer. Others were not as fortunate....

Anyway, once in Jordan I had no problems and was able to pay everyone back. Then we went to a nice fish dinner and saw a wedding party drive by, setting off fireworks and lighting cans of hair spray on fire like blow torches as they drove around the city. Pretty crazy. Welcome to Jordan. But the real feeling of ...

We stopped here and there for some breathtaking view or amazing colors or rock formation, and then continued on, bouncing wildly at dizzying speeds. He seemed eager to be done with us, and by 3:00, we were being dropped (mercifully) at Beit Ali, the Bedouin campsite, where we were going to stay. Although it was quite remote, otherwise it was nothing like I was expecting. Instead, it was a ...

We spent the late afternoon scrambling on the nearby rocks. At the top of one small 'mountains' we just sat still for a time, taking in the majestic surroundings. ... Several times we came across Bedouin camels, their front feet tied to each other with a short length of rope. This let them move about, but only slowly and with some difficulty, allowing their owners to find the when they so choose. Toward the end of our 4-hour drive we ended up at the "sunset viewing spot" an area with a lovely panorama of mountains into which the sun sinks each night. We climbed up on a low promontory and watched the sun set behind ...
