A communal BBQ was set for the evening meal. Ted elected not to venture out into the cold night air, so Cathy brought a plate back to the van for him. This illness is very frustrating and interferes with the social life drastically.

The snake I saw was a non-venomous specie luckily, there are also plenty of brown and red-belly snakes around - some of the most venomous on the planet.... I was pretty happy with sleeping in a van and not in a tent though, wouldn't want to wake up next to one of these creatures! All in all a great few days up in the mountains, but on Sunday I had to start the drive down to Dalby and report for duty for the first time in quite a while!

... really pretty though and not as cold as I thought it would be since the trees shielded us from the wind. It was a beautiful walk and I took what felt like thousands of pictures (and some were actually of me). Still, after 2 hours we were all glad to be out and able to eat our lunch of sandwiches and chips.
