... landscape i haven't experienced: the beach. and to tell you the truth, i usually try to avoid the beaches. whenever people travel, they usually always go to the beach. beaches are nice but i want fresh air. and to get away from people. <br><br>this time when i was figuring out my vacation, i had this picture of me sleeping in a hammock in a wooden bungalow right on a deserted beach. it felt right so i decided to try to find this in real life ...

... The ferry only took 45 mins and there was another pick up waiting at the other end. This one took me into the centre on Trat, a trip of 30mins for a mere 50 Baht. ... and get up to eat breakfast overlooking the water with my backpacker friends. I love my hut. The shower floods the bathroom, the toilet flushes with a bucket and it gets really hot because i turn the fan off at night to hear the sea....but I wake up in the morning, just put my bikini and shorts on and the sun is warm on my skin , I can see the sea lapping over the rocky beach in front of me and everything is perfect ....why did I leave? I still don't know. .

... spot, not a patch on the Southern Islands, but still, it's a ½ day from Bangkok by coma inducing mini bus, the beaches are quiet, and older crowd, honeymooners, corporate functions, etc, but there are still places to snorkel and dive, great wild life, we have seen monkeys scampering along the power lines to steal bananas, snakes sneaking across the road between motor bikes, amazing ...

Beach equals sand equals horror for camera, so the camera stayed in the hotel room (although I have sinned against this rule in the past, but hey, if you see those pics, how can you blame me?) Right, I've worked up quite a thirst. I think it's time to combat the sunburn from the inside by applying a thin layer of alcohol on the inside of the skin, in the form of a Singha Beer. Cheers!
