Charming little hotel right in town. Rooms were simple but bar and food was excellent. Train to get to village. Fairytale like town!

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Caprice Wengen

    This hotel exceeded all expectations!

    from

We stayed at the Caprice July24 for 4 nights We were a little apprehensive staying at a "smaller" hotel but because of the reviews on this site , we took our chances. It Was the best vacation experience of our life!!!! Absolutely immacculate. The staff was Top-notch. Very personable..it helped make us feel not so "foreign"!!

The views out of the dining room ....Oh MY GOSH

    Family friendly...

I have recommended to ALL my friends to stay here

The most beautiful place in the world.

    from

we visited at the end of may, 2004.

we were fortunate to have a top floor room with a jacuzzi tub, marble bath, wood beamed ceilings and the most incredible view of the alps above, the quaint wengen village at our feet and the totally spectacular 'valley of waterfalls' in the near distance.

the location was literally steps from the train station.

the staff was efficiently helpful. one employee, i believe his name was andy from canada, was very helpful in giving advice on a hiking/walking trail to and beyond "mary's cafe" that i found so fulfilling. this is 'old europe' at its best.

we visited six places in europe. if i can only return to one - it will be wengen and the wonderful establishment of the caprice hotel.

    Gorgeous, serene, extraordinary

    from

We had a great June stay at the Caprice - two nights in a double with view on the second floor - it was perfect! The room was well-designed, and the view was unbelievable - the photos can't capture how extrordinary. In the morning, all we could hear were cowbells far off in the distance. Dinner was ultra-fancy, haute cuisine, perfect for a special celebration (we had a second dinner at the Eiger, traditional Swiss, also enjoyable).

The train ride up was very easy - we went straight from the Zurich airport train to Interlaken, and then changed onto the local picturesque railway and wound our way up the mountain under waterfalls and rock-faced mountains. Wengen is a great town, and we used it as a base for walking and light hiking.

We found this hotel through Trip Advisor and all the other rewiews and we were really impressed.

A true gem for the discriminating traveler!

    from

Hotel Caprice with its spectacular views, gourmet dining and excellent service from the warm & friendly management & staff made our visit truly memorable! Hats off to Monica & Christian Aubert! Gail & Alan Wayne

Don't think of staying anywhere else

    from

Everything perfect - the location by the railstation, the view of the mountains, the bedroom very comfortable and functional with modern bath, and the best for last: absolutely magnificant food - a world class restaurant!

    A Great Hotel

    from

Situated only 100 meters from the train station and a few minutes walk from the telecabine, offering 2 routes to the ski slopes / mountain walks, together with the ability, in winter, to ski right down to the back door, this hotel is beautifully located for couples and families.

Panoramic views of the mountains and quick access to the small picturesque, car-free in winter, town of Wengen, are an additional benefit. The Caprice was recently completely refurbished to a very high standard. With comfortable bedrooms, excellent cuisine, a well stocked bar and a relaxed friendly atmosphere I am sure that you will enjoy your holiday here.

    Caprice is excellent

The best views in the World !

    from

This Hotel has the best mountain views in Switzerland, if not the whole World ! Since a previous stay in 2002, we were very pleased this year ( 2003 ) to see that the Hotel has been completely and very tastefully renovated. There is a new comfortable lounge with a log fire, and a new bar with views to the mountains. The new restaurant is extremely well appointed, with French Gourmet cuisine. Our bedroom was very comfortable, with new carpet, curtains and bedspread. The lighting is also much improved, and there are now bathrobes ! The views from the balcony have to be seen to be believed !

    Unbeatable location and views

    from

Top class cuisine, fine wines and excellant comfort. Access to both the town and slopes is easy. A great location to enjoy the stunning mountains in both summer and winter.

Caprice, a small hotel that has it all

    from

Rooms neatly furnished, view fantastic and staff attentive with outstanding restaurant and chef

Farewell France and Hi to Switzerland

On Saturday we decided we'd had enough exercise so John and Helen took me on a scenic drive through stunning snowy mountain scenery to La Sambuy, another very pretty but small ski resort about 40 minutes away. To their credit, they have made many friends in the 6 or so weeks they've been staying in Talloires, often through Charlie breaking the ice …

Never thought I'd ski in Europe and after last week's skiing in France here I am having just completed three days of fabulous skiing above Wengen. Because temperatures are below zero on the slopes overnight snow making has made for very good skiing conditions generally. I'm loving the adventure and particularly the physical challenge and am self …

Feeling weary after the first two days of hiking I had a more restful day today visiting one of the Jungrau region's tourist highlights, Schynige Platte. It's position and its 2,000 metre altitude provide it with unparalleled and virtual 360 degrees views of surrounding mountains, lakes and towns. As the advertisements say, "nowhere is the panorama …

We started our day in Lucern, where we enjoyed our last hotel breakfast prior to the start of our journey over to our next town, Wengen. We stay here for the next four nights and it's going to be spectacular! The front of the hotel is pretty normal, but when you get in your room and open the back windows to the patio, well, I'll just reference the …

    Hiking in the Rain

Heavy rain but forecast says maybe clearing. So I decide to do one of my favourite walks, a descent of 1,100 metres from the foot of the Eiger down the crest of a glacial moraine, through some picturesque valleys and forests back to Wengen.

Rain persists as I arrive via Kleine Scheidegg in my second train to Eigergletscher, the start …
