... Although you would think that a city this size with nearly nine million people would treat tourists with disdain, I have to say we had the opposite experience. You could stop a stranger in the street, ask questions and be answered in a cordial and polite manner. New York Cops were extremely helpful in answering any queries.

We just happened to be dragged into a "Dunkin Donuts" shop and seeing we were there just had to sit down and taste ...

... to get off at a different station and walk to the one we wanted. We didn't have credit left on our card so we decided to walk the two stops to our station, not the best idea at night in a slightly dodgy area of town but we made it home ok. Up early again but this time it is to catch a taxi to the airport. ... Manhattan. We were told to get off at 42nd street and from there a free shuttle would take us to our hotel. What we weren't told was that the taxi driver for the shuttle bus was possibly the worst driver in New York, and possibly the most aggressive and would get us to our destination alive or dead.
