Our first big day out was to Amalfi and Positano, two towns that we had high hopes for after doing our planning for this trip. Lucky for us the weather was great and they did not disappoint. ... all week! The bay is very nice and we took some photos with the new camera and even asked a random couple to take a picture of us, I am not sure why we don't normally just do this. On Saturday we dropped off gran at the station and drove to Naples Central Station where we take the train to Rome. ...

Oh no! More drama! And then Santa Lucia!

A travel blog entry by rhills

... Lucia is the patron saint of the city of Syracuse (Sicily),
where she was born. According to tradition, she
arrives in the company of a donkey and her escort, Castaldo. Children
are asked to leave some coffee for Lucia, a carrot for the donkey and a
glass of wine for Castaldo. They must not watch Santa Lucia delivering
these gifts, or she will throw ashes in their eyes, temporarily blinding
them.
