... the procession started and there was some fanfare from the balcony, not that we could see much. After about 15 minutes the old guard marched back out and it was all over with. Much shorter than the one in Ottawa, but in most respects better.

... version. The second level of stairs wind around the center with very little edge between the outside of the metal frame of the structure. It's a little creepy for me as I'm a little afraid of heights, even though I love climbing things! The views are spectacular over the city at night. We can locate our hotel easily from up here. On the way down the hill, we take the funicular to the bottom. A short walk down the street and we are home for the night.
