Started our trip in Sardinia with Alghero, a medium size city by the sea. The hotel where we stayed was nice and modern and we were lucky to get a room that was facing the sea. Nothing more beautiful than to watch the sea right from your bed.
We have swapped mad Mercedes drivers (present company excluded) with three 'legged' little trucks. They seem to be everywhere and what is even more surprising, is that sometimes they manage to fit two passengers inside.
The roadside is full of prickly pear and poppies. You will read lots of superlatives today as we have loved everything we have seen. But the price of fuel here is a tad more experience - ,30 Euros per litre more.
... quick! Quick food notes, Incredible type of De-Caf coffee made from a local Barley in Sardgena, Cafe D'Orzo...highly recommended to try just for the rich taste. Pizza Capricciosa, Amaro Liquore, Ichnusa (2012 is the centennial birthday of this local Sardegna Beer) Limoncino (Local favourite liquor which is similar to our Limoncello) and of course the incredible array of Pasta, Pizzas and Gelatos that you can eat all day long. Enough about food! I'm not a restaurant guide (but, I guess I could be! haha).
Nest stop - London. Tasks of the day: land safely, get home, get the luggage organised from the house, clean up, leave the keys to the owner, and go to Heathrow Airport!
