... populated by attractive locals sunbathing.

One topless sunbather, lying on her front, was clearly praying to St Cyril that the playful dog which had suddenly appeared gambolling around her, would shove off before she was forced to retrieve her top in full view of all 200 tourists.

Luckily her prayers were answered, in the guise of one gallant but actually totally oblivious Richard Duval who distracted it long enough for her to recover her ...

Dep: 26th May 17:09 Arr: 28th May 04:29 The heavily romanticised notion of the Trans-Siberian experience involves a wild-eyed horse trader from Omsk, several bottles of disreputable vodka and an incomprehensible card game. Then a visit to monastery of Kirillo-Belozersky on the edge of the White Lake. It is a huge complex of churches and other buildings and is more ...

... Last evening we passed through 5 locks that raised us each time. It is a fascinating procedure, the locks have been quite large, probably large enough for up to three boats our size. They are however a narrow fit and we do spend some time in the locks bouncing off the sides.

We arrived at the little village of Goritsy just before lunch so we had a bit of time to have a little walk. The village has a population of 600 but it ...
