... The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Despite the huge choice we all ended up eating Spaghetti Carbonara, except Eden who had Macaroni Cheese. When we walked back to Saltycrax it was dark with a big full moon. Despite people saying how dangerous South Africa and Cape Town is we felt completely safe walking home. One man even helped us cross the road. So far my impression of South Africans is that they are friendly and helpful.
Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa frontal... which restaurant this was for, and found out it was in The Atlantic restaurant (the biggest restaurant in the hotel). We are seated shortly after walking in we noticed perhaps the largest breakfast buffet in the city. This thing rivaled what they produce in Vegas. There was a whole table of just fruits, another of salads, one for cereals. Then once you turned the corner, there was another long table of hot items and ...

I felt privileged to have such a perfectly-autistic stereotypical conversation first hand, an interesting insight into the confusing world of Autism. The kids at Vera seemed very happy, they had good bonds with teachers, I would see teachers give hugs to their children everyday and play with them in the playground at break. All the professionals there were very interested in Autism ...
Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa cherelle.f... and ridiculously cheap. it cost 8,50 rand (about 85 cents) each way to get from Cape Town to Muizenberg and from Kalk Bay to Cape Town. each leg was about 40 minutes long so i'm not sure how they make any money but it is the way that many people commute to work so i suppose that's why they keep the costs low. i was cautioned to take the train only during the day and to sit in a crowded car. i listened and it all worked out fine. why were some of the locals ...
Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa tkillip... away from my parents since August when we started traveling. The sleepover was great - we got to play games on his Wii, hang out in his tree fort which has great views of Table Mountain, and do fun things. He is a cool dude. We are going to hang out more while I am here. Well, got to go pick up Andrew and Nic then get ready for Christmas. Uncle Dave is going to cook us a big Christmas Dinner so we have to pick up more things. Bye for now!
Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa zolabAnd so the preparations begin for my move to Canada. Its going to be quite a change, quite a scary one but Im excited and am up for the challenge. Bought gloves and winter things today to ward off the cold. Decided that i would be better to leave after Christmas, say early January sometime. Feeling confident and excited about it (",)
Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa shlemmie... the girls at the restaurant, because things that are little nothings for me at home mean so much to them... ...Fortune cookies for one...it is a huge ordeal for them picking out their fortune cookie, and after eating it is almost an event to open them up and read. Also, the girls asked me if it is REALLY true that in America I get my Chinese food in little white chinese ...
Cape Town, South Africa dafein10... over the good old days. Had a huge dinner where everyone stood up in turn and contributed to the tales down 'memory lane'. Haven't laughed so much in a long time. Some good photos. Partied until the sun came up and even the mass of teenage children (that we've all produced!) enjoyed their own celebratory reunion - say no more! Thanks Nick and Pet for a very memorable weekend.
Cape Town, South Africa fosters4... in the world and getting to my next destination. We all know how well I do with transitions. Plus, I'm still playing catch-up because I just don't have the energy at the end of the day to write the day's experiences before going to bed. And that means that, at this particular point in time, I am sitting in my cabin staring at the Victoria and Alfred wharf in South Africa through my window as we refuel our ship. It's right there. Another 300 meters and I ...
Cape Town, South Africa hayesbkDay 39 out of 41 and we finally make it into South Africa. We camped at the rather ugly fishing village of Lamberts Bay - together with the smell of hundreds of Cape Gannett and the odd dead seal. And for our last night under canvas it also chucked it down as well. The next day we drove into Cape Town, the final destination. We were met with mist and rain plus the opportunity to see Will Young and Gareth Gates live in concert. I think the young ...
