    We have all heard about Nelson Mandela and his role in South African history, but this was like a personal meeting with him. I feel like I have walked in his shoes just for a little bit and I feel like I understand just a little bit more about who he was and what he endured. A fascinating place. This is a full day trip, ferry across to the island and then immerse yourself in the whole island and the prison in particular.

    ... dragged away in the middle of the night and their belongings bundled into a truck. They were then driven outside the main town and dumped in the new town of Langa. This was to be our next stop. Firstly we visited a project centre where arts and music are helping locals to earn money as well as work with children. We saw sand pictures, jewellery , pottery and participated in an impromptu drumming class.
