... flavoured with lemongrass) At the start of the day Sea cat had told us that the river crossings to access Victoria Falls was waist high the other day and with the extra rain all night in the mountains he wouldn't know if it was passable. As we ate our way through so many fruits and said hi to all the locals (one school girl shouted 'Hello white people' as we passed her) we finally got a glimpse from a distance of these 200 ft falls. Sea Cat claimed we could do it so off we ...

... a hummingbird. We then had a walk around the town, looking at the market and then headed back to the boat. The coastroad took as through one of the residential parts of the town - the houses were like gardensheds, but really pretty all the same. After taking only a handful of photos on Grenada, I took about 100 or so on Dominica so when I get home I will post them on Facebook. We ...

I am driving in Dominica

... am going to drive us to the other side of the island to a beach. From what I understand, the nicest one on the island. I will keep you all up-dated on my adventures and my driving. I hope all is well with all of you. I just want to say thanks for all the e-mails. You have no idea what they mean to me. I come home everyday and go right to my computer to see if anyone has written me a e-mail. God Bless you all. Steve

The next part of my adventure.

... me fell asleep with their heads leaning on me. What fun>LOL. The cost is nine Caribbean dollars, around three American dollars. All in all I did have a chance to walk around the city by myself. A city of about thirty thousand people. Went to the Department of Forestry and pick up information on all the trails for the island. I was told there that I should take a guide with me on most of the trails because you can get lost very easily. I was also ...

Things to do and places to go in Guadeloupe

... Châteaux, Le Moule, Pointe de la Grande Vigie and Port-Louis (excellent diving spot). Pointe des Chateaux (Castles Point) Situated at the most eastern part of the island its spectacular views draw many visitors, enabling you to see neighbouring islands; La Desirade, Iles des les Petite-Terre, Marie Gallante, Iles des les Saintes and sometimes more! Despite the name, there aren't any castles, its actually a reference to the majestically carved rocks ...

St. Thomas island

I just loved St. Thomas. This was where I escaped by myself and did a spot of shopping. Came home with a respectable booty, including a ruby and diamond leopard ring. I also took a helicopter tour over the island, which was exciting.

Wednesday 11 - finally sailing towards Dominica

... our affairs, we're ready to start... just to discover once on board, that our lunch-boxes have been left behind. Et voilà, David goes back and comes with.... Hélène and her hangover! After a few minutes (well, now it's almost midday!) we start for the Southern Sea... direction Portsmouth, Dominica! My first time on a boat... luckily it was a catamaran, cannot imagine being on a proper sailboat... quite ...

Tuesday 10 - Getting used to it

Et voilà... I'm starting to get used to the idea of being on a site and reading the guidebook, it seems to be a much better choice! I'm waking up quite early in the morning... apparently there is a cock somewhere singing like a cock. Anyway, moving the curtains and seeing the sea no more distant than 30 meters is of great impact on me! The day is spent trying to get up some strength... I've left for this trip quite out of ...

Monday 9 - I was supposed to be sailing

Here we are! after 2 days spent in Paris, at noon I'm on an AirFrance aircraft flying to Pointe à Pitre, Guadeloupe, thinking about what a wonderful 'croisière' I was going to start... I would have never thought that in the end I would do something completely different, but surprisingly wonderful! Once off the plane, there I found Silviane, kindly enough to tell me that my croisière was not starting ...
