... highways. No such luck. Next stop was Guttenberg which turns out to be quite a little tourist town on the river at a lock. Found a quaint motel in an old list building right on the river. Reasonably priced room, even free wifi.
Had dinner at a nearby cafe also overlooking the river. I tried cat fish and Wes had a smoked Iowa chop. Watched a boat push 12 barges down the river. Barges are tied together.

We dropped down under the clouds and into the turbulence, but Alex was fine with that. The reason we'd come down early was to look for the location where the movie Field of Dreams was shot. We found it, in part because if you look very closely on the FAA's Sectional chart, "Field of Dreams" is actually marked! We orbited the field once, dashed into Dubuque to pick up a rental car, then headed right back to the ball field.
