... Yikes! Didn't quite make it all the way back into Chicago, but certainly did a very strange circle. Came to my senses in the town of Paladine; stopped and got directions from a nice young couple, only to find that the road they directed me to was closed. Leaving Town
... we've added a new member to our family. Since this trip would include a seven-month old infant, we had a slightly different set of criteria when picking a destination. We wanted something relatively nearby (closer than, say, Australia. Or even mainland Europe). Something with no malaria or other weird tropical diseases. Something developed. Something family-friendly. After sifting through the options, we settled on Iceland.

Tomorrow morning we drive to Chicago and will have lunch with Daniel, Abby and Anna.Then Daniel will drop us off at the airport and keep our car. We'll travel to Friday (no Thursday for us as we cross the International Date Line!) and Down Under.

My Head's In Mississippi
... bauen konnte. Seltsam und Überflüssig aber ein mal ganz lustig!
Dannach schlederten wir durch die Stadt und besuchten ein paar der Läden. Ein Feinkostladen mit verschiedenen Dips, Marmeladen, Soßen und ähnliches war toll, da man fast alles probieren konnte. Wir fanden außerdem einen superleckeren Ice-cream shop. Ich hatte typisch amerikanisches Eis: Cookie Dough Eis! Mit großen Stücken Keksteig. Super!

Delightful Dubuque
The day we went to Dubuque was a very interesting day because of some of the local attractions. The first of these was a giantic sculpture of "American Gopthic" outside the art museum. In the center of town there was a random clock tower that Mom & Dad seemed very interested in. For dinner, we stopped at a nice Italian restaurant called The Crust. Here's Moms' thoughts:
