      On Friday I checked out of my hotel and took the train from Penn Station, New York, to Union Station, Washington D.C. There it was also pretty hot. The shops on Wisconsin Avenue, just down from where our Hotel is, are gorgeous and look as though they are set in the front windows of old houses, flowers once again hanging from the lamp posts.
