The rest of the afternoon was our own free time but as we had seen most of what was on offer in the city, we went into the Natural History museum for food and a look around and then to the National Art Gallery for the toilet and quick look around. We came to a World War 2 outdoor memorial manned by some US Marines. I had my photo taken with a couple of the US Marines. They looked very young to me - about 16. They were also very polite and called me "ma'am" which made me feel very old. We walked for nearly 3 hours and ended up outside ...

... has eaten boom!! Then a quick drink with some locals before hitting the hay! Up early again the next morning to plan our trip, visit the Holocaust museum - very humbling but so worth seeing. We then walked back up towards the Washington monument & then the White House, I'd have liked to go a bit closer but understand why not - we even saw the snipers :) in the evening we went to join a walking tour of the memorials but it bucket ...
