... of pulled pork to melt in your mouth succulently. Andy went for brunch; poached eggs on rye with potatoes. We both had coffees & a cup of water. Having been to the feed station at Eureka we continued along our journey on Route 66. So many places we passed, such as: Eureka - its great street decorations for fall and seeing in the distance Six flags amusements. Stanton - Meramec caverns where Jesse James' hideout had been and his wax museum St Clair - tippee's on top ...

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

... travelling together from Mississippi. They hear that we're from Canada and they immediately ask our thoughts on Obamacare. Not sure what side of the fence they're on, we play it safe (and honest) and say we don't really know much about it. They're amazed by the fact that we don't pay for anything when we go to the Hospital, and as much as they think that would be great, they're not convinced their new system will come anywhere close to that. I hope for Americans, it does. ...

Heading to Joplin. Missouri today.....right on the border of Kansas.....our fifth state. In Carthage, Missouri we visited a beautiful historic courthouse with an antique cage elevator that still works. We "shot" the Sheriff and his two deputies.......so we got out of Missouri in a hurry. Route ...

... the Giant Rocking Chair - a little quirky tourist lure. Cuba is also known for the number of street murals, not unlike KatiKati at home.We bypassed St Louis except for a quick trip into Ted Drewes Frozen Custard - the ride in was very hot and so many lights so once we got there, we weren't sure if we wanted to eat it or wear it. The ice cream was great to cool us all down and give us a few minutes off the bikes.

... Effingham for lunch (at the American Legion Post in Effingham) for Pork steak, beans and coleslaw. After being there an hour we then headed to Troy, IL for fuel which was a 83 miles leg3.
