We go down to the layout room and run a couple trains around, looking at the new additions of staging yards below and discussing plans to remodel part of the yard.
I depart around 5:30. Wish I could have stayed longer but need to get back home to begin the preparations for big trip.
... at Ken & Krys' house. We unloaded what Dave and Ann needed into their room, and went next door to Perkin's for dinner. This took much longer than we anticipated, and it was about 8:20 PM when Lea, Gayle, and Norma headed off for Pocatello. Through a series of events (that we won't detail here), it ended up that they came back and got a room at the motel. So we all went to bed and looked forward to starting the ride tomorrow!
... irritating end to the day. Andy was the driving champ today, doing all the driving, and getting us in to our hotel (the early stop) in Lakewood around 8 (we had estimated we would be there around 5:30). By this time, we were all starving and stir crazy. Luckily, there was a fenced in dog run at the hotel so Pippi was able to work off some of her frustration.
