Another day and another early start, this time to catch a flight to Seattle. A little bit of juggling luggage to make sure bags weren't overweight and a short car ride to Oakland for a 2 hour flight. We picked up our car for the next few days (a very roomy pick up truck with no name yet) and headed south towards Lacey to meet up with some old friends and introduce the rest of the family to some new friends. A very relaxing afternoon catching up and topped ...

    Last year revisited

... we love the drive across them. Then you enter the Grand Ronde Valley and La Grande, which is also a beautiful place. It brought back so many memories of last year's ride and made us excited to get started this year. ... John T, his wife Dani, and Johnny. That involved an indecisive gas station trip for late night snacks, a laughing fit about a blue lighter, and TV watching (cause it had probably been more than 24 hours since John T had watched a program. Withdraws.) Next morning was up & up for breakfast with the family. John T & Sada's dad, my Uncle Terry, does not have a small coop. There was also my Aunt Joann, my cousin Sophia, her husband Brian, kids Erica, Nathan, Sahara; ...

Day 2: Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

Day 2 (October 19th) started out with the alarm going off at 3am, a cup of coffee and prayer for the day. After dressing my little toes with some additional padding and getting geared up we set out for Enumclaw to resume this day's stretch of the journey. Some light drizzle was already falling as we drove.

We arrived in Enumclaw around 4.30am and headed for Highway 410 where I disembarked and once again hit the highway. Though it was not raining at this time, ...
