... The first night was spent at Sakura with everyone including Ricky and Kim. Of course Sakura is a sushi train with all the fixins. The rest of the trip was spent at the Legends Shopping Center and The Books A Million book store. The last evening was dinner at Oklahoma Joe's Bar B Que. The french fries were great but everything else paled in comparision to Rudy's.

We arrived around 4am. I got up around 7am to capitalize on any time with my sisters, nieces, and nephews. Brett slept in until around 12nn. We ate breakfast and the kids played for a couple of hours. Then it was on the road again..

So the Journey begins! The day of travle is here and we awake to Jackson tapping us on the shoulder....."Guess what today is...it's NEW ZEALAND day" Couldn't be more excited!

SB was her usual stressed self on the day of travel, and other than ME leaving my laptop in the terminal in KC (I did rememer it half way down the jetway...) we figured it was better than leaving a child behind!

... want to give a quick shout out to the Healthe Pharmacy here at Cerner, they've been so helpful in purchasing supplies and getting me good deals on high impact items to take with us! Also, the mail room staff that has been so helpful in packing and sending all those large boxes back in August and then helping yesterday with padding and packaging for items that might burst in transit.

We will make it to Lima tomorrow night, fly up to Piura ...

... been told now that we'll need to bring some cans of broth and powdered drink mix because the hospital kitchen may not be available to our surgical patients so it should be interesting to see how that plays out.

I'm counting down the days until we leave and I can't believe how much I've got to get together! Packing the supplies that didn't make the August cutoff for our container to be shipped, thanking everyone who contributed to my efforts, setting up this site, figuring out how to pack everything so that I don't get hit with monstrous baggage fees...going to have to get strategic! So, after much time and traveling, I am back in America. In the meantime, after leaving Zürich, me and my three friends drove to Singen, the current hometown of one of our group. His internship is still continuing and thus he had to go back to work. Before we dropped him off, though, we drove partway up a nearby hill and climbed the rest of the way up to the ruined castle of Hohentwiel. ... working on getting that house ready to go in case someone wants to move in or buy the house while we're gone. Ginny has been over to learn about the new fish and say hi to Link, Bodee, and Stella. I've paid all my bills (I hope) and plan on mailing them Friday morning on the way out the door. I've called the credit card companies to let them know to expect strange charges. I've changed/updated my listings on the MLS and let tenants/clients know we'll be gone ...

... helping me become a more confident and knowledgeable individual, while I'm having a great time in a tropical paradise! It still seems a little unreal that I'm leaving the country in two days. So far, the nerves haven't kicked in, but we'll see how I feel a little closer to the day. :) I'm going to try and do an entry once a week - we'll see how it goes once and there, and get busy exploring a new country!
