      ... each view prettier than the last. We spend a lot of time here and take many pictures. Eventually we turn around and retrace the route taken to get us back onto the Interstate and resume the original trip.       ... had to pay for day use. My stays were short and consisted of wetting my doo rag to stay cool and stretching my legs. I was thinking of visiting Multnomah Falls but man did traffic going there look bad. I wanted no part of that!

      I rode along the Columbia river for quite a ways and saw lots of green landscape. A couple of roads I pulled off on had great shade and looked like something out of a magazine. The scenery from a motorcycle is awesome!

      ... is the drive from Salt Lake to the flats ends with a 35+ mile stretch that is absolutely flat and straight. Probably the straightest, flattest road I've seen on the whole trip. My guess is, if you wanted to take your car to the flats to see how fast it could go, you'd know before you even got there!
