    ... was a lot further than I though, probably a mile and a half, and when I got there, I was less than impressed with the campground. It looked muddy and dirty and crowded with RVs and trailers, and it was right next to the railroad tracks so it was going to be noisy too.     ... happen on the Appalachian Trail. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the halfway point on the trail. I am now 1,217 miles in, and Pennsylvania has become very rocky and started to live up to its namesake of "the place where shoes go to die".     Arrived at Casa Calma Hotel at 6am. Avery small boutique hotel that is enviromentaly friendly. Easy to spot in the street as the whole hotel is covered with a hanging garden!
