It ended up taking us 12 hours to make the "short" 8 hour drive. So much for our plans to get home early!
So this is the final detailed budget tally. Turned out to be a pretty low-cost vacation - especially since we did many "bucket list" activities that are typically super expensive.
... made it to our cabin! We were so excited to walk in. The place was beautiful. The photos really don't do the place justice. Very nicely decorated with leather recliner couches and deeply cushioned lounge chairs on the deck. 5 bedrooms on 3 levels meant we had plenty of room to spread out. And they they were pet friendly and welcomed Dim Sum ($30 pet fee).Check out the video we made when we first entered the cabin.
David was driving to Detroit, Car Rental, to fix up the contract on the hire car, and possibly change the car over.
Denise and Chris came over to the hotel were I was staying, and we stayed there and chatted for a couple of hours.
