... Carnival was sandwich art and a trip to the Island Playground bouncy house.

That evening we went to Savannah, GA. Its cobbled streets, lush green squares, and stylish homes make this my favorite Southern city so far. After a stroll through the town, including a a stint at a playground and dinner at D&B Burgers, we made our way to River Street. Saturday night on River Street is busy. The ...

... a pack of kids to the movies to see 'Inside Out' on opening day, while Tom and I had a nice, leisurely walking tour of historic Savannah while waiting for the door lock actuator to be repaired at the dealer. An afternoon at the pool with 5 kids and a bed time dance party topped off the day.

... Then for dessert they did not have what we wanted because the private party had eaten up all the desserts so the chef made us something special and on the plate was written “You are always welcome here” and then they drew around the plate with oil and SET IT ON FIRE! It was so amazing. I felt after this tragedy of a vacation it was appropriate and needed to have one good meal. And we did that. It cost more than our hotel but it was fantastic!!! We ...

... we had time to watch a pelican fishing for its own supper. He or she was really going for it diving half a dozen times in the space of a couple of minutes and catching at least two fish that I could see. The meal itself was delicious and I can recommend the Crab Stuffed flounder.
