I make the quick drive from Birmingham to Montevallo, Alabama, to visit the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at the University of Montevallo. This school is unique as the only public liberal arts university in the state, and one of the handful in the nation.

... come down on the elevator from their roost on the roof everyday at 11 and return each day at 5. They are trained to ceremoniously walk down the red carpet to and from the elevator. We joined the hundred or so other people in the lobby to watch the ducks take the stairs out of the fountain and prance their way down the red carpet to the elevator.
