... said this, that did not stop me eating loads of it! My favourite part of the breakfast was definitely the bacon, peanut butter and jam on toast I had ;-) We then both had a bath, watched some bad American daytime TV (the view scares me) and we made our way to the zoo. ... on the track. Drivers can only do a 12 hr shift and then have to change over so five minutes before the next town the crew, from the freight train, needed to change. Amtrak is great - relaxing and always plenty to see. Rolling countryside with heaps of corn as far as the eye can see. (It's coming Trevor!) We arrived in Chicago (Naperville) to a special welcome!

... Dexter cafe. The lady owner appraised us, and when asked for directions to the restroom said "... and don't pee in the sink." An inauspicious introduction you will agree, but lunch was good, and as we swapped yarns she told us how her husband had died of cancer in May, and how running the cafe had kept her going through the grieving process. ... bigger than a typical hotel room, but not a 2 room suite like we were blessed with at Scott AFB. We went for a walk around the area; Offut boasts the country's largest "field house" (a gym), in an enormous former hangar that did the mods on aircraft during WWII.

Tomorrow (Friday), we are staying in Omaha, going to look at the SAC museum here, and possible some other places, too.
