    ... we were crossing the NE corner of New Mexico. And for the short time we were there, we could see mountains on the horizon, rocky hills poking out of the ground, wild yellow flowers in the fields and in places, black lava rock strewn about in the meadows of yellow hay. This is a product of the extinct Capulin Volcano which, I have discovered, is a national monument. Perhaps next time we will stop to visit.

    ... into town. Another night at the local America's Best Value Inn, this one being a bit more sinister than the one in Paris, as indicated by the sign on the inside of the door.

    I'm tired but drag myself out to Jefe's Mexican for some taco's and a beer. Thankfully, there's not much else to do in this town anyway, so I soon hit the sack when I return to the motel.
