We left Ada, Oklahoma this morning heading towards the Texas border. As we were approaching Exit 51 to get onto I-35 the interstate was closed. There were no directions as to how to proceed, so we headed to a small store near the exit. We learned that the interstate was closed for a small section due to a rock slide from the storms this section of Texas had over a week ago. As Foodroadie Jim would navigate, we landed at Arbuckle ...

We left the park and crossed into Texas, of course stopping at the visitors' center for maps. The traffic through Fort Worth was terrible! When we finally made it home to Austin we were greeting by our loving husbands and a beautiful dinner that they prepared, complete with lovely table setting and flowers! Aren't we the lucky gals!?

... casino, but not right at it. So we wound up in Thackerville, OK.

Getting to Oklahoma was a challenge. Just north of Temple, I-35 was virtually shut down because of an incident some 12 miles up the road. It took an hour and 20 minutes to do those 12 miles! By the time we got to Thackerville we'd been on the road over 7 hours. We were so glad to finally get there we weren't even remotely interested in unhooking the toad and going ...
