      ... homeless people and the area we were in was mostly Hispanic. It was a bit slow getting through the city, because there had been a seriously damaging fire a few days ago on one of the main freeways which destroyed a good portion of it so we had to detour. Apparently it was started by a homeless guy who was just trying to get warm.

      The state of California actually has more people than all of Canada, and it is the third largest state in land ...

      ... fat' breakfast, we came back to the hotel and the 'bellboy' got us a cab to The Outlets at Orange, which is like an outdoor mall with all the outlets shops and heaps of eating places, plus even IMAX movie theatres! There were big department stores like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and even Saks Fifth Avenue. One place there was called Dave & Buster, which was a huge arcade with a bar and restaurant! It looked like a casino inside!

      ... see one of the main locations, the garage and the clubhouse. Just living the Hollywood lifestyle.

      The weather here is mostly hot, and it's just cooling down for winter. It was really humid when we arrived, and now its jeans and windows shut weather. It's still not as cold as where we're heading next. It's winter over on the northeast, in Boston, our next destination! The west coast has treated us well, but we're looking forward to experiencing a completely different side of America.

      ... when Brigitte decided she had had enough. So Mum took her back to the hotel and me and Dad went on the ride. It was so scary but so awesome. It took you up in an elevator and then you dropped and then went up and down as you looked out over the park. It was so cool.

      After that we went home and relaxed before bed. Brigitte wasn't feeling well - probably the result of too many rides, but she eventually fell asleep ...
