      On our way back to Chicago we also stopped at Lansing and Muskegon (on the shore of Lake Michigan across from Milwaukee). The small town of Muskegon boasts a WWII submarine museum. In the harbor, outside the museum, the 'USS Silversides' is moored. Displayed on the side of the submarine are small Japanese flags, each representing destruction of an enemy vessel.

      ... that Wisconsin is serious about its recycling at least in the rest areas! Talk about being very specific about sorting your recycled items. Inside the rest area, they had a dirt track car.       Drove 401 miles in 6.5 hours on day 1. Explored the city on day 2.

      Highlights

      After the long drive we were pretty exhausted. Luckily we managed to find a great Somali restaurant a block from the hotel for our dinner. Great spicy food for real cheap...still paid for from our casino haul the previous night, even sweeter.

The bike performed magnificently - I was low on brake fluid, I was in need of an oil change, and I suspect a coolant flush will be in order, but other than putting gas in I added 1/2 quart of oil to the bike.       ... meeting in Long Island I drove back via Penn and Ohio then back up to Muskegon Michigan to catch the ferry back to the OC (Oak Creek). It was a nice little trip that I will definitely do again when I have more time to spend at the various way points. And BTW … absolutely No problems with the bike!! That’s two East trips with no problems – against two/south & West trips with two problems! I’m looking to break the streak on this ...
