... s birth town. We parked along the river and walked through a small park with a statue of young Samuel Clemens. Not too far was another statue of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. There was a lighthouse on a hill behind them, so of course we had to climb up to it. ... This afternoon, we met up with Cody, our sponsor contact, his Chief, and three other firemen to take over the town Taylorville. We were all armed with flyers and we made sure that every single business in the downtown square knew about the upcoming show and took flyers to hand out to their patrons. ... neat stop. After that, about fifteen minutes down the road on I-70 WEst another pull off for this place called Artichoke Annies Antiques. It was a monstrous antique store with tons of stuff. Lucky for Bryan we stopped...he found the 2 goblet glasses to complete his set. Back on the road and into Kansas City by 4:00 p.m. Our hotel, a Best Western is in the town of Independence...home of President Truman. We plan to tour his museum tomorrow.

Happy to be home-Sad for this adventure to end
