Happy birthday from Japan
I had no idea what would happen to me to day. As normal we woke up early to a free breakfast then checked out. We took the shinkansen to Nagoya where it started snowing. Then it started really snowing. Snow everywhere. From Nagoya we took a express to Matsumoto. The next 2.5 hours was countryside, mountains, rivers and snow. As we climbed higher and higher the snow did as well. I got many amazing shots.

Matsumoto is a very cute city with its own castle (not that I have seen it). Luke will take the kids out today to do some exploring. Mason doing really well, he can stand with weight on his good leg on crutches. Not allowed to put any more than 10kg of weight on his bad leg for 6 weeks. ... made our way into a small round room off the main chamber it had several small cubbies similar to the last room but these clocks were a lot older. We saw a sundial, hourglass and even a candle clock. This room also contained a projector playing a slideshow of images of different time pieces. With the ground floor fully explored we took the stairs to the second floor.

... you can see all of the different layers). These were pretty cool to look at. But we soon resurfaced into the castle park and began to explore. We walked around to moat taking some excellent photos of the castle and gardens, this area would have looked amazing in the spring time when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom but as it was then, the trees were all baron and dead. Leaving the garden we made our way back down into the streets.
