Back in the USA

... being in the US. I have not driven anything in 6 months and here I am driving on the highway!! It took me all of 5 minutes to get back into the groove of wanting people to get out of my way and to speed. Ah do I miss driving fast!!<br>After lunch at Chilies and hour ride home I was sitting in the house watching TV and relaxing. I was home and I just wanted to relax and soak up the fact that I would not wake up in Medellin. :o((((<br>I knew while I was home I ...

Dirty arrival at Cocoa Beach!!

... side of Orlando. This is a nice big house with plenty of room with several roommates all living under a roof. There's Travis, Josh, me, and Michell's step brother Mike. Gonna be fun to see how it's like all of us living together under a roof. Travis is still hunting for electrician job, but all the work's dried up, same as my field of work as a auto technician. The rent here is generous, and very affordable, so living here ...

Kennedy Space Centre

The US are very proud of their space exploration. The Kennedy Space Centre is a fantastic example of this. We were given an extensive tour of the facilty and shown the journey of every shuttle before it takes off to space. The massive equipment that is needed to move the shuttles and rockets around the facility. We even got to listen to Jack Lousma, an astronaut who was in Skylab and the first shuttle missions.<br><br>Cassidy's recount<br>....

Time to go!!!

Sadly, our time of being spoiled, pampered and overfed has to come to an end. We finalized our packing the night before and put our bags outside the door where they were whisked away overnight to be unloaded in the morning.<br><br>We said goodbye to Mum and Dad who were catching a plane to Las Vegas and we were off the ship by 9.30. The girls were very happy as our ...

... all this activity we had to skip the formal dining room as we didn't have time to change. After another buffet (yes I'm stuffed) its time to put the kids to bed, granny is on babysitting duty and we head off to the Arcadia theatre to watch Tony Tillman. He once opened for Bill Cosby and does a great act with singing, dancing and jokes. He ends with an amazing tribute to Sammy Davis Jr. <br>Looking forward yo Labadee, Haiti tomorrow.<br><br>

Day 2

... alligators and terrapin. Saw the 45 year old nest of a bald eagle. Weather great and temperature in the 80s. A great Italian meal at Sylvesters in Cocoa Beach: owned and cooked by a real Italian; the chicken and roasted vegetables were as good as anything I have eaten in an Italian restaurant.

... than 100,000 stars to capture tiny dips in brightness as planets cross in front of them. In 3 - 4 years NASA hopes to present a planetary census to estimate how many "Earths" are circling other stars in the galaxy. General Bolton and the NASA scientists were seated in the hugh windowed launch command room where they watched the ...

... it was so cool.  It's supposed to give you a similar experience to what the astronauts really go through in a shuttle take off.   And the best part?!  It did something to fix my aching back!  I don't know what it was, but after all the shaking and hangin upside down, I felt much better.  :0) On the way there, I saw a VERY large alligator on the side of the road in some swampy area.  It was about 6 ...
