... Excellent insight into how the facility works. Last stop was to see a real Saturn V rocket which were used for the Apollo missions. Enormous. Back at the Visitors Centre we viewed the Atlantis shuttle and rode a launch simulator then watched 3D films on the Hubble telescope and the future of space exploration. Looked around the ...

... food. Hey Check this out ...... 2 Ground Beef Tacos, a Beer and Key Lime Pie....... Pre tip Bill/Check $10.48. Wow! ... way in Fort Lauderdale! (here's hoping!)
The whole centre is beautifully set up and geared to handle thousands! We started with the gardens and then did a bus tour that took us down to the launching pads, seeing how the crawler works and learning about the difference between a Shuttle and Orbiter!!
The highlight was seeing the actual space shuttle Atlantis which is now on display which was just incredible to learn about.

Check in went pretty well, and then we went through security and then to another line where we got our ship ID cards. Time to board. Guess what - no Julie waiting to greet us. Where is the cruise director?? Rooms will not be ready until after 1pm so lunch is in order. We passed the bar and guess what - no Issac... When ...

... and then progress to a spectacular movie about the space shuttle launch - great surround sound, plenty of smoke and haze as you experience what you believe has to be the next best thing to being there. At the end of the launch movie they restate what a magnificent shuttle she was and remind you that when she came back from her last and 33rd mission in July 2011 she had orbited the Earth 4,848 times, traveling nearly 126,000,000 mi (203,000,000 km) in space or more ...
