    Thursday August 6 - Day 24

I’m pretty sure there is a country song for everything in life; and Kevin has them all on his phone! Yesterday we had to listen to “Long gone to Saskatchewan” as we crossed into Saskatchewan and today it was “Hurtin’ Albertan”. Maybe tomorrow we should listen to my phone!

Today was not our best day. When we left Regina it was raining and it rained ...

Made it to Drumheller by 11am and had a bugger of a time finding the hoodoos. Here's a hint for your next travels, go east at the fork towards Drumheller, not west. This land is like nothing I've seen before. Straight out of a western movie. Arid yet breathtakingly serene. I'm also waaaay out of shape for these hikes. Time for more ...

Today we ate breakfast and headed to Drumheller, which is about an hour and a half away from Calgary. We arrived just before 11 and it was pretty busy at the Royal Tyrell Museum already. Then the museum takes you through the periods of history as they relate to ...

We tried to leave Banff early as we had a 4-hour drive to Drumheller, where there is a fabulous Dinosaur museum. It was highly recommended that we visit there.

We drove to the museum via Hwy 9 which is a beautiful drive in itself. Many brilliant yellow fields of safflowers. I really wanted to shoot some photos, but we thought we’d better get to the museum. But for those who read ...

Sadly, today we left Jasper to start our journey back home. First stop was about 6 hours away, Innisfail, AB. This place is home to the RCMP dog training centre. Every Wednesday they open to the public for about an hour demonstration. It was awesome. We learned about their breeding program as well as the vigorous training both the RCMP officer and dogs go through. Well worth the drive up. Originally we planned ...
