... a bus trip along the coast which was a vast improvement over the sites of the old city. The trip reminded me of the Amalfi Coast with a great view of Mount Visuvius across the Bay of Naples.

Tonight there is free pizza and an open bar on the ship so you can guess what shape I will be in by 8pm. Put a Caper in a free bar and he gets a look on his face like the Amish at Radio Shack.

... we headed for the National Archeological Museum, which mainly contains a large number of pieces taken from Pompeii and Herculaneum.

The museum is huge and over three floors. We thought Naples would be dirty and smelly!!! Not so, we were pleasantly surprised!
We took the hop on, hop off bus tour which was terrific. We saw all parts of the outskirts of Naples......
We also wandered along the narrow alleyways and were talking to the locals. They wanted their photos taken with Ray!

We were also surprised at how many memorials there were in the streets....

... crowd and still remains a swanky place to visit. There wasn’t anywhere for the bus to park until we reached the town of Amalfi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Only an hour here but that was enough. The main shopping area was crowded with tourists and full of tacky souvenir shops. Oh look there’s a church. Guess who wanted to go in. Actually it was nice to get away from the crowds for a few minutes. The Cathedral of Amalfi included the Cloister ...

... and air. The process is incredible!
The pottery was amazing to see!

We headed for the cafe - the only place to eat inside the walls of Pompeii. We were slightly peckish! We got a chocolate twist.. pastry wrapped tight with chocolate.. YUMMO!!! Simon got an espresso as well, of course!

After the cafe we wandered through the Forum baths. It was incredible in there!

We continued on our walk around the streets of Pompeii - looking in ...
