MORE ROMAN OBSERVATIONS: Most entrances are large, wood, brown double doors. Everyone walks down the center of the walkway. For walking, I personally prefer cement to cobblestones. They say Rome was built on seven hills, I truly believe there are nine or ten. All major fountains are closed for repair. It appears there is a lot of restoration happening. ... glass and ceramic that survived in addition to the clay, marble, and stone. We had been told that a visit to this museum before going to see Pompeii would enhance our visit as few artifacts are displayed at the Pompeii excavation site.

Another beautiful day on the Mediterranean, and this time we were docked in the port of Naples right in the middle of town so we just had to walk down the gangplank and go exploring on our own steam. How easy can it be.

Therefore we had a leisurely breakfast looking out at the castle straight in front of us as well as the one up on the hill whilst deciding on our course of action for the day.

Once off the ship we were inundated with taxi drivers ...
