Amazing times....

... and time for sleep.

My time in Kefar Szold was full of great times, great people, great vegetarian food and loads of girls! In fact my entire couch surfing trip there have been girls everywhere and nearly no guys - maybe I should move to the North of Israel :-)

In the morning the Naomi and Hareal drove me to a nearby town and we said goodbye - its sounds crazy but I will really miss them - only after 3 days with them!

Next up Rosh Pina.

... finally arises. No hello, no nothing, straight up "what ta ****" came frmo my end and thre was a dumb reply "I'm so sorry, where are yu I"ll be there really soon." Finally after 2 hours of sitting around, this tall, long-haired, drunken man by the name of Shimon Shlevich approaches me. I was super comfy while waiting for him, with my feet up in the air, doing my sudoku puzles and still with a smile on my face! I laughed at him when he told me that the reason ...

RELIGIOUS, MOUNTAIN TOWN

... Friday evening in the mountain town of Tzfat. I'd come here this day from the Kibbutz Kfar-Mazarik, changing my scenery from non-religious to emphatically religious. And incidentally, I should say that it was due to Israel's unique religion that I decided to include a stay here in my world travels rather than one in nearby Lebanon. Religious beliefs really influence people's everyday thoughts and actions. I should learn a lot in Israel. In Tzfat ...

Political Lebanon...Part 2/3

... it. Hassan Nasrallah's picture was largely displayed and Hezbollah's flag was flying high; it was almost as if we were entering a new country, which was kind of true. Hezbollah effectively controls the south of Lebanon, south Beirut, and the northeast of Lebanon. Nothing really changes from government controlled territory to Hezbollah controlled territory; it's really only a matter of politics. So we stopped, showed them our IDs, an officer asked us a few ...

Day 11: Tzfat

... but who never even have a negative thought. At our first stop this concept is put to the test. Mordecai is reviewing the history of Sfat and discussing one of the many synagogues when a fight breaks out between two elderly men wearing the religious uniforms. It starts with some yelling, moves on to pushing and continues to punches. Mordecai rushes to intervene and receives a few punches for his efforts. A rabbi comes out to ...

... of 14-15 missiles landing every day here during the war with Hezbollah. I also meet to nice 17 year old American girls. They look American, dress American, speak English and smoke cigarettes. They are here at an all girls seminary to learn to be religious girls, Lubavivich. To cut hair when married and wear a wig and be orthodox. Very strange. Huge dinner at Rosh Pinah, great food! It is at a sort of strip mail and I stop in the REI of Israel, super weak!

Safed

... this tile floor is in a synagogue. So that was my weekend! Only 4 more weeks to go and 3 more weekends. Time flies for sure. Next weekend we are going back down to Jerusalem to see a few things and then to Qumran, the Dead Sea and En Gedi. I'm going to float in the Dead Sea like those sumo wrestlers that were in the Cinci Enquire. Hey Yo! I love and miss you all like an American in Israel loves and misses cheeseburgers and porkchops. Ciao (that's not Hebrew), Kristen
