I got an email from Viator, a travel app, detailing a day trip from Barcelona to the Costa Brava. So I wrote down all the names of the places they would visit on this tour and off we went. The first place we drove into was called Calella de Palafrugell. They described it as a small coastal town, postcard perfect and to have your cameras ready to capture all the bobbing boats in the harbour. Well they were right, its very picturesque and ...

... what seemed to be yet another col. After about 40 Kms along the coast we headed inland and spent most of the rest of the day travelling through farmers fields. It was very hot and we had difficulty finding a place to eat, but when we did, one of the patrons kindly came over to translate for us. Must say fresh melon in this part of the world is outstanding. The only negative note about today, other than the heat, is that the coastal road is very busy with ...

... villages small and smaller , then suddenly found ourselves in an industrial park of some sort with no signs to guide us. As usual I just followed my nose and ended up fine - I emerged 1 block away from a sign indicating the next own we were to pass through, and 2 blocks later not only was I back on route but I found a great place to stop for a bite to eat. I would have discovered all this on my ...
