... of my trip, like where I'm living, the classes I'll be taking, etc. But after my orientation today I'm officially excited. I've started to get back into that old French mindset, the one that I've experienced before my other two previous trips to France. By the time I leave it will have been almost two and half years since I've been there, and while going to a completely different country with a completely different language ...
Eugene, Oregon, United States caplanepourmoi... Now....I don't remember either of us saying anything out loud like "wow, things are going smoothly" ...but I know we were thinking that. So, when we got to our car, it was dead, dead, dead. After an unsuccessful try at jumping it via the hotel van, we called AAA and they sent someone out to help. It took a while to charge up the battery again, but 90 minutes later, we are finally on our way again.

But wait.....we're really low on gas ...
Eugene, Oregon, United States donhadDre.. transform and roll out..

Drove up to Eugene this weekend to stoop it with Benja and his lady Rachel. ****in refreshing..
I met Benj in Kathmandu almost two years ago and he's pretty much my life. So being with him was incredible. I could go into details about my amazing weekend but it's just not going to scratch the surface or begin to explain his importance in my life. <br ...
Eugene, Oregon, United States vino_voyageursI went back up to Eugene, picked up Katie and we drove back to Idaho. On the way there we camped in the Cascades at the Metoleous River. The photos don't really show how incredible this is, at the mouth of the Metoleous the water comes out of the side of the mountain. Turn around and it's a full river.

We drove through the Craters of the Moon National Monument, also an incredible area.
Eugene, Oregon, United States sjandbuddy... oh well.

I went to the coast with my friend LaRosa, drove by my old house and found the fence I built and designed still standing :) I went to my first of several WINGS seminars, I am learning and growing a lot from these seminars and will stay connected with the program. If you're curious, google WINGS Eugene and check them out.

Eugene, Oregon, United States sjandbuddy... I can) And I head out to the garden center where I find that they've got a huge section of their pottery on 75% off! Score! I pick up this nice large white pot and a round BBQ grill that fits the mouth just about perfectly. At this point, I knew that I didn't just want exposed super-heated stone on the outside of my over, so I needed something to protect myself and others from touching it. I wandered around the store for probably an hour looking for inspiration. I asked a couple of ...
Eugene, Oregon, United States kirby... areas here were great but the new Pier 39 was much too touristy and over the top for us. We had a great lunch at Fisherman's Grotto, the original restaurant there where I had Dungeness Crab which is a specialty. The huge piles of them outside on the stalls were impressive. We took a small boat ride out on the harbour. This was run by a couple of young guys and was less touristy and significantly cheaper than the alternatives. We went out under the Golden Gate bridge where ...
Eugene, Oregon, United States mrsmac... apartment where I left my gear.

Then I delivered Andres to a student center, and went to return the truck to the local rental agency. I thought it was near the center of town, but had confused its location with the Greyhound Bus terminal. So I pulled over and found two surprises: it had been very fortunate to bring my laptop, and I was in a hot wi-fi zone. So I could get a map showing me where the truck rental office was really ...
Eugene, Oregon, United States oldrover... often saying, "Where did I put my such-and-such?" It takes some patience on both of our parts to see the humour in the moment and have true sympathy for the other. Our biggest problem is that as we are walking, we find we had packed away in an inconvenient place something like a pair of binoculars that should have been more accessible. The first mile or so that we walk each morning is also rather comical as we readjust our clothing and gear for the day. Ruah is usually tightening ...
Eugene, Oregon, United States peaceforearthI was supposed to fly this labor day weekend but a huge fire in Sun Valley ID canceled the whole thing. All of a sudden I was looking at four days off. Well that's a no brainer. Grabbed my motorcycle and started packing. Half panicked half excited I threw all kinds of **** together that I didn't really need but had the space for ...
