    ... but I was already in tears with laughter and that just increased when he went to the bottom and still couldn't find the way out.  I just imagined my whole week stuck in a carpark.  Eventually we got out and went to Köln for the day.  By this point in the car trip, I had remembered left and right in German and Kai had taught me to count to ten.  We hopped out of the car and he asked me which way to go, to which I said left.  Every time.     ... Into the hallway of the Thiesing residence my suitcases stood awaiting Norbert to take me to the Short-Distance rail only a kilometer from their house by 1pm to take me to the Essen Hbf where the Long- distance ICE arrived at 14:23 to Hannover.

    Essen is a buzzing Main station replete with food halls, opportunities for snacks , savoury and sweet as only the Germans can organize. Spotting the Nordsee Seefood Snack bar my stomach made the familiar sounds too ...

    Wednesday would involve domestic shopping, a vet trip and a brewery tour, luckily for us nothing outside as it has now decided to rain :-/ We pulled up outside what we thought was a vet and Neil and Rory bravely went in leaving us girls to defend the van. After no time at all Neil returned with a smile after successfully getting Rory's passport stamped for free with zero checks or problems.
