Viale delle Cascine 86 Florence, Tuscany, Italy
Well as the infamous Leaning Tower drew ever so nearer, there was no mistaking where we were. We arrived at camp to a proper Italian welcome - jolly, smiley, helpful & just very hospitable, which we had kind of been expecting throughout our Italian travels & it just hasn't been the case in many instances! Anyway, this camp was great and only 800 metres walk from Pisa itself - perfect, no buses, nothing!! When we arrived & set up, we just spent the rest of the day lounging in the s...
Pisa, Tuscany, Italy no1pablo... Anyway after much driving we met a local who understood English… unfortunately he seemed only able to say he understood English .. And with us asking for the sea and him agreeing with everything.. It was more sea..si sea.. Si….very confusing…anyway put feet in a creek which seemed to be heading for the sea… and called it quits…..
The rain picked up again and it was a bit of a difficult drive for Geoff to make it to a town ...
... I had been told that the end of the hike was the best part, finishing with a beach that is more than welcome after a tough hike in the sun. We didn’t finish the hike until almost 7 and it had rained a little… not exactly encouraging us to jump in the water. So instead we got a bottle of wine and watched the thunderstorm that was brewing offshore. I even got a couple lightning photos because I’m that ...
Cinque Terre, Italian Riviera, Italy tidolu14... The various groups of people failed to meet up in time, so the group I was with decided to head to our vantage point and hope everyone else knew where to go. Miraculously, somewhere along the walk, the two other groups managed to meet up with us at the same time, from different directions. We called it The Perfect Storm. It was weird, and one of many things adding up to a 10/10 night.

... room with free breakfast (eggs!) and dinner (pasta or pizza, naturally) made for some serious socialization and some interesting folks.
We confirmed the best gelato in the world claim made by the Trinity Gelato shop... twice. Mascarpone and Chocolate being the ultimate flavours, we saw the David by Michealangelo and found it a unique experience as compared to everything we had seen up to that point. There was a fascinating photo exhibit set up temporarily at the ...
... Ponte Vecchio was also the only bridge not to be destroyed by the Nazis in 1944. Today it is just full tourists and overpriced shops.
We made our way up to Piazza del Duomo where the cities most iconic land mark is, the Duomo. One of the worlds largest Cathedrals (the fourth to be exact) its red tiled dome dominates the Florence sky line. Personally the mix of Green, Pink and White just doesn't ...
... each other both with deep hesitation that I could detect by the stuttering of their blows. I tried to help pry the Italian woman, who was obviously the assailant off the Australian and succeeded just long enough for the Australian to make her getaway. I later caught up with the Australian woman who enraptured my morning at the leaning tower and found that the Italian woman was begging for money and wouldn't let up, and when she ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy kostandina... e and i really had to go and i was not about to hold it for the 90 min hike. i felt better after the bathroom break and was on my way to Vernazza as a happy camper. when we arrived to Vernazza we stopped for lunch because at that time we had worked up our appetite for some good lunch. we kept smelling great seafood so we wanted to go get some. pesto is really popular in cinque terra so a few girls got that pasta and i ordered a penne pasta with a spicy tomato sauce with scampi. the ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy amandawhitaker... which was cool. The weather was pretty good that day. It started off really foggy but burned off around 11 and was nice and warm for the rest of the hike. From the quarries we were led to Fiesole, in the northern hills of Florence. To get there we walked on an old Etruscan road that was still there and ended up in the main piazza in Fiesole where there was a market going on for Palm Sunday. We were ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy lenamoinaMichelle: The first thing I have to say is that this French keyboqrd is crazy (I'm writing this from Nice, France): So mqny of the letters and most of the punctuations are in different areas; so I apologize in advqnce if this is hard to read.
