... Late afternoon we drove up to Cres. The town is right on the water. No cars in town and gorgeous little alleyways everywhere. We spent an hour getting lost in the lane ways, then stopped for dinner. We both had the Cres specialty, lamb cutlets. They were very tasty! Nice to have some good meat :) We found the ice cream shop just as it was closing, then headed back to the ...

Windiest night ever. Worst sleep. It was like sleeping on one of those bucking Bulls. Poor Percy was getting thrown around everywhere in the wind. The day started by extracting sea urchin spikes from Mats feet! Too much fun at the beach yesterday :) We headed to Valun, a cute town, much more modern than Lubenice, right in the water. A cute little spot! Then we drove to Ustrine. We hiked down to the beach and had lunch on the rocks near some old ruins. Then we went to the ...

We wandered through the old town of Lubenice before hiking down to the Sveti Ivan beach. Well worth the walk; it's beautiful! Clear blue water and nobody around. We were ...

... Rijeka was crazy - traffic like Melbourne, and Mat said he felt like he was in the favelas in Brazil. We were going to stop but it was so crazy, we didn't. We kept driving to Krk Island, where the ferry departs to Cres Island. Before we knew it the heater was off and we were cruising with the windows down!! Feels like we're on a beach holiday!! We booked the 6.15pm ferry, and enjoyed our first Croatian beer while we waited for it. Only a 25 ...

... and other such towns along the coast it mostly consists of restaurants, cafes, and tourist shops. It was nice for a short stop, but that’s about it.

Same thing for Pula, Istria’s largest city located near the peninsula’s southern end. Pula is best known for its Roman amphitheater built during the first century A.D., one of the largest in the Roman world and currently most intact. Pula has a few other Roman and early Christian monuments in its ...
