Seems like a long journey to get here. Ever since arriving in France we’ve been ‘heading south’ with the goal of arriving at the Medeterranian Sea. ... such a huge amount of confidence to travel around Asia. I know that Spain is a little more tame than Asia, but I know that now I can be alone and I will be okay. I had never been truly on my own and I was really scared about it, but now, I embrace the opportunity. I believe everyone should travel alone, male or female, just to see what it's like. This just may be the most liberating experience of my life...so far.

... two weeks (I was planning on staying for 12 days). So instead I've mapped myself out a really nice road trip throughout Spain, where I will stop in Valencia, Granada, Malaga, Gibraltar, Sevilla, Cordoba, Madrid, and Pamplona. This should take me about the same time, so I'd have approximatelty 2 1/2 weeks. Hopefully my next post will be from a strange and foreign Spanish city.

... to allow rain in Italy to clear. Want to re-visit Lake Garda, see if we can't get the spot right next to the lake we last had some 15 years ago, say. Don't know if it's a good idea to go back to the site of happy memories: can you improve on them in any way, or only spoil their rosy glow?

... of the truly great things about France is also their baguettes. For example, you order a chicken baguette and it comes out about 2 feet long and almost just as wide stuffed full of "real" chicken, salad and fries. They are a meal for two - have a look at the photo album for an example. Value for money there was nothing better.
