    ... we ran into some people we had met in Vernazza. We couldn't get over the fact that we had made so many friends and really appreciated all of the small talk since we could all speak English and they even knew that Wisconsin was a state! We took another train back to Monterosso because it was getting late and then went out for dinner.     ... lie in the sun, (with sunscreen on of course) we made tracks to walk into the town centre. Along the way there some really pretty mosaic displays. After a day of swimming, eating, walking and taking lots of photos, we headed home just after 6pm along with the hundreds of other tourists.     ... then selected our route down to La Spezia - thought we would do the country roads rather than the autostrada. We saw some beautiful scenery and seemed to be getting closer to the Alps as we drove south. We came across one village which had the stations of the cross in roadside chapels separated by about 100 metres.     ... the time you parked. Blue markings mean you have to pay at a machine and display a ticket, yellow are reserved for residents only so are a no no for us tourists. The place we found is a new car park which has yellow and blue markings but has no machines to buy a ticket yet so you park free!
