... The main strip has more restaurants, as well as bars and it is just a really pretty town and lay out with good views. We had an AMAZING meal here, Louis had a seafood spagetti and I had grilled octopus. We had some delicious wine, followed by cocktails and a scotch - we had to waste time through the rain somehow! The rain did make further exploration undesirable so we went back to Riomaggiore for a siesta and made our way back ...

... upon a little stream, took some artsy photos, then took a side track that seemed to lead up to the top of the mountain, but it actually led to an enclosed rock formation that has an attached rope to assist people getting in and out of it. We thought maybe it continued up the other side, but it was so steep and overgrown with brambles that we decided not to chance it. We returned to the main track, crossed a little bridge, and came out the other side ...

... the time you parked. Blue markings mean you have to pay at a machine and display a ticket, yellow are reserved for residents only so are a no no for us tourists. The place we found is a new car park which has yellow and blue markings but has no machines to buy a ticket yet so you park free!

... disconnected, some of the wiring in the entrance foyer of buildings was new and in other areas the wires were disconnected. Some of the neatly bundled wiring on the exterior of the buildings appeared to be brand new. However, the streets were completely clear and normal looking, with little visible damage. I expect the local residents will continue getting things back to normal when the tourist season is over at the end of October.

We had a very tasty pasta and mineral water feast (by this time, we'd decided that sparkling water was much more refreshing than still water)
