    ... time packing up and headed down. Obviously it was MUCH easier going down , but it was still lengthly. It would be great to live out here and dayhike whenever.... We made it down about 11 taking making many pics along the way and meeting a few folks too headed up. Once back at the car, we headed east towards Winthrop, a tourist cowboy town. From there, we had lunch then fot a motel room at Lake Chelan. We took a quick swim today as we were still rough from the trail. ...

    ... along the Columbia and Methow Rivers the charred landscape changed into dry grass hillsides, log ranch homes, cattle, horses and tumbleweeds. We arrived at our camp at Beebe Bridge Park along the Columbia River on a sunny afternoon. It was a great park with very large sites for only $15 per night. What a deal!
