Had a better sleep last night and a very nice breakfast of crusty buns, baguette and croissants with cheese and ham, fruit, yogurt and coffee. We ate in the solarium with the koi. Camped for the night in the Vallee de la Meuse very near the Belgian border and joined in a local French guy's birthday party by accident, though at least got to enjoy plenty of Belgian beer which I would have missed out on otherwise.

... Decided to. Rave the crowds, and walk up to Sacre Coeur Cathedral. We couldn't go to mass, as it was too late, but we could go for a visit. Beautiful church which sits up high on the hill overlooking all below. There were thousands of steps, and people to go through and it was a hot day, but we managed it. It's a shame that along the steps there are very bad smells of urine which on a hot day are oppressive. Lots of beggars lined the steps too, which makes me sad. Everyone says ...
