... little economy seats, did a little sleeping, watched a couple of movies, ate a little breakfast and arrived in Paris surprisingly awake and alert. Charles Degaulle airport is big but the process of going through the immigration lines is far superior to the lines and delays we endure coming into the US.

Our driver was waiting in the designated spot, spoke about two words of English but was driving a luxury car ...

After lunch we headed out on a self-guided walking tour to Ile de la Cite and Ile St. Louis. While toasting the arrival of our new grandson, we received the Skype call from Kristy's hospital room, and got our first look at mother, baby, and proud papa. The images were so good it was if we were in the room with them; what amazing technology. Happy Birthday, Matthew!

... Nothing. I step back and look up to see our apartment. Only 5 stories up but looked quite far up. All our windows are shut. No chance of Carissa coming to the window and seeming me. If this were Mumbai I'd stand on the street and yell her name. But in this burgeois Parisian neighborhood where I've been living for 2 days? Probably not a good idea. I can hear shrieks coming from the stratosphere. Sounds like Ellie. I can hear them but they don't know i'm outside. So near yet ...
