    ... we explored an old railway station house that is now in the middle of nowhere with no rail line to serve.

    The wind was pretty fierce. We found out later there were gusts of up to 80kph. There was often a head wind so parts of the day were difficult!

    We explored Gien (coffee, patisserie, toilets and bottled water are on the list for any stop). Loved the bridge here.

    ... drawing room and a few other rooms all set up with appropriate furnishings, plate etc. It was very well done - much more dilapidated and rustic than Versailles of course. We also got to walk around the potage/kitchen gardens which are extensive and very attractive.

    By now it was 5.05pm and we headed back towards the boat. I was even more pleased to see the Anna Maria VI than I was yesterday. A most delicious meal ...

I would have expected to be able to have a coffee and cake in the Joan of Arc café or buy some tacky tourist gifts at the Joan of Arc tatty tourist shop but there was absolutely zero of that about. I may get in touch with the Orleans tourist office and give them a few tips on how to market themselves.     ... brunch we had a walk into Moret-sur-Loing which, for a small town it has a big history. Moret was a walled and river protected town where the River Loing meets the River Seine. Both rivers are big and form an important junction on the approach to Paris. The first castle was 12thC but only the tower remains but the 3 gates from the old wall still remain in very good condition.
