... stuffed when we walked into Orisson after 2.45 hours. We did stop a lot though to enjoy the fantastic scenery.

When we checked in we were told it was a full house and that we were sharing the room with three women - an American teacher from New Mexico, a Canadian from Quebec and an Australian policewoman from Murray Bridge. It was cold this far up but we washed and hung gear out before going to eat our lunch on the deck overlooking ...

At one point we had to push our bikes across a newly ploughed field which was very tricky. We passed vineyards and some very old churches, chateaus and villages. All with a distinctly medevial air to ...

Friday: the exploits of the previous days have really caught up with me and I am extremely tired. Up at 6 am, I was lucky that the morning was cloudy and I was able to cover much of the 60KM before it got unbearably hot. But really the mental, physical and spiritual tiredness have kicked in. I could hardly bear to face the next hill, and it was difficult to find a comfortable position on the bike. As I said, I was fortunate that the journey today was short and I had some ...
