... stuffed when we walked into Orisson after 2.45 hours. We did stop a lot though to enjoy the fantastic scenery.

When we checked in we were told it was a full house and that we were sharing the room with three women - an American teacher from New Mexico, a Canadian from Quebec and an Australian policewoman from Murray Bridge. At one point we had to push our bikes across a newly ploughed field which was very tricky. We passed vineyards and some very old churches, chateaus and villages. All with a distinctly medevial air to ...

Up at 6 am, I was lucky that the morning was cloudy and I was able to cover much of the 60KM before it got unbearably hot. But really the mental, physical and spiritual tiredness have kicked in. I could hardly bear to face the next hill, and it was difficult to find a comfortable position on the bike. As I said, I was fortunate that the journey today was short and I had some ...
